Best time to visit the Bronx Zoo
Weekday vs Weekend
#
- Weekdays at the Bronx Zoo are less crowded and will get you through the exhibits faster because of smaller waiting lines, so you can enjoy the wildlife at your own pace. But watch out for school groups who tend to visit the zoo during weekdays, which might affect wait time in some exhibits.
- As you can guess, the weekends at Bronx Zoo are pretty packed, but that comes with some perks. All amenities are open during the weekends, which might be closed or under maintenance during weekdays. Special events are conducted during weekends, which you can participate in; just make sure to come early so you get an easy parking spot.
Peak season vs low season
#
- Peak seasons are from May to September, during which all rides and exhibits are open and at full display. You also get to enjoy seasonal events but be prepared for larger crowds and higher temperatures during this season.
- Low season, from November to March, has its pros, like fewer visitors, discounted prices, and easy parking. Along with cool weather and easy access to top exhibits, you also have to be aware of some species that are less active or not active at all during this season.
