Best time to visit the #9/11 Museum and Memorial

Weekday vs Weekend

  • The 9/11 Museum tickets are timed, which means you don’t have to worry about it getting too crowded at any point. However, without a doubt, it is advisable to visit the museum on weekdays to avoid the weekend rush.
  • On Monday afternoons after 3:30 PM, free entry is allowed into the museum. Unless you want to take advantage of this, we suggest that you avoid Monday afternoons as well.
  • Thursdays and Fridays are most preferable as the evening crowds on these days are quite limited.

Peak season vs low season

  • The museum's peak season falls during the summer months between June to August. There are also higher crowds on the 11th of September every year.
  • If you are traveling from overseas, the summer months have pleasant weather with rainfalls on just about 5 days a month.
  • January to March are the low season in New York and you can expect less crowds then.
